"Default System Session"
Hi!
I'm running FC2. When the login screen comes up, I ALWAYS have to change the session to fluxbox because the radio button for "Default System Session" is always selected.
Can anyone answer this question specifically:
Where is the file that controls what radio button is selected? If I knew this, I could change it to fluxbox potentially.
If that is not an option..
Where is the file that sets "default" to "gnome" or something like that. If I knew this, I could change default to fluxbox potentially.
I have searched and read many posts on this subject, but none seem to answer my questions.
Thanks for any response!!

Change the last line of your ~/.xinitrc file to /usr/bin/fluxbox instead of what's there now.

Nothing is there now because the file doesn't exist!
I created the file manually and added the line, but it doesn't change anything.
Thanks though.

You have to put #! /bin/bash at the top of the file then. Here's the example of mine:
Quote:
#! /bin/bash
xscreensaver -no-splash &
gkrellm &
/usr/bin/fluxbox
|
You can ignore those 2 lines between them, those are other programs I want to start when x starts.
BTW I think that there's an example config file on your system too.

Ok I tried that, but it still loads the default manager.
Are you sure this is the solution for FC2?
Thanks for your patience - much appreciated!

Which desktop manager are you running. I think I read somewhere that you might have to change your .xclients file or something. I can't find it cause I deleted my desktop managers environments completely and only use fluxbox.
I found this with google: edit wrong link
Maybe that's of some help?

Where is the gdm.conf file located? And why in the crap does the GUI find file in KDE always crash if I search /lib or / or anything on a lower level? Permissions? What?
