Default browser changing in Linux Lite

Hi all

I'm using Linux Lite 2.6 32bit and am having a problem getting Chromium web browser to stay set as default.

Here's the deal. Open "Prefered Applications" and set Chromium as default, the when I open Chromium it tells me it's not set to default blah, blah, blah. So,I click yes to make it so.
I verify this in settings.

The fun part: open the "Prefered Applications" again and it's now set to nothing.Select Chromium again, close the pop up
and back in Chromium again tells me it's not default. This goes back and forth and ticking me off because everything opens in Firefox, especially links in Thunderbird.

Is this a Chromium issue or Linux Lite? Thanks

have you tried this:
  • tell chromium to stop whining about it forever, and close it
  • then try to set chromium as default browser in prefered apps

Tried this from Wirezfree at the LL forum:

"Menu > System > Lite Tweaks
and tick the Default Web Browser and Press Begin"

Seems to be working
