Decent Software Editor

Can anyone suggest a good software editor for linux. Currently I use DAC (Development Assistant for C by RistanCase) under windows and the code browsing features are invaluable. I've also used codewrite in the past and that is also very good.

Unfortuantely I can't seem to find anything similar in under Linux... can anyone suggest one?

I cannot use DAC as it requires a parallel port dongle :(

I don't know DAC but you can try one of the following:

Emacs/XEmacs
Vi/Vim
Scite
Good luck

If you know the executable name, use the whereis command, e.g.,

whereis firefox

If you don't use the find utility (kfind???) and hunt for

codewarrier*

in

/ .

Might help if you spelled codewarrior correctly.
