Debian woody-wheres my kernel source ?

i have Debian woody installed with kernel 2.4.18 installed. when i try to compile some programs from source they ask for the kernel header files, which should have been there in /usr/src/linux/
but in /usr/src theres only one directory /rpm now if i try to install the source from the package manager it just copies the zipped file(kernel tar) to another location and not this directory. When i try apt-get install 'kernel' or 'kernel source' or 'source' it says package not found. can someone tell me where to find the source?

Kernel packages are kernel-source + version (search in dselect or kpackage for 'kernel-source').
Install, untar, and tell your apps where to find the sources (/usr/src/kernel-source-x.y.z if you use all defaults).
