If it's so important (by the way, it's not, for us; please read the link in my sig), then you should not be running Sid. It is called Unstable for a reason.

I read through the errors but didn't see anything. So, try checking your logs, and also let us know why you think it's a proxy error, because I see no mention of a proxy.

well i have to submit a project by thursday that's why it is important! i thought it was the proxy because when i do help -> upgrade i get a message to check my internet connection and my proxy settings. my internet connection is fine (i am posting from my computer now) and since there was a proxy update i guess that is the problem. on sid i have apt-file and apt-listbugs and generally i do not have to deal with problems. what logs should i look at do you mention?

thank you

as far as i can tell, although i chose no when it asked to update the config files of privoxy, it did update them. and i think that's the problem. all other updates had nothing to do with network or internet connection. but what can i do to fix that?

thanks

well i just noticed that netbase was also upgraded. so it is either it or privoxy that cause trouble. but why just on netbeans? do they block any ports?

hi there,

i have a similar problem.

since 07.Dez.2009, after apt-get upgrade (unstable).

i have a "java.net.SocketExeption - Network is unreachable"
for example
in Squirrel-sql connection to a mysql or db2 or oracle database
in some Netbeans-projects connection to mysql or db2
in tn5250j (using jt400.jar)
in openoffice-base (using mysql-connector)

every where i get "java.net.SocketExeption - Network unreachable"

maybe its the same bug?

there was an update today for netbase but did not fix anything... I think the main problem is the line of the output that says:

Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Network is unreachable

has anyone managed to solve it?

got it.

http://groups.google.com/group/linux...d099cf65123551

edit /etc/sysctl.d/bindv6only.conf
change 'net.ipv6.bindv6only = 1' to 'net.ipv6.bindv6only = 0'
