I am looking to set up a Debian/ROX based system, but after adding the the ROX-Filer, I am at a loss.
I would like to use the ROX Desktop (or at least test it), But I don'w want to use Zero Install. I know there is an old deb package out there, but that is now unmaintained and out of date.
Failing getting the ROX Desktop
Do I need ROX-Session? What is it for
What would you recomend as a lightweight but well specified WM?
(I am also looking at ripping the SyphonyOS of its live CD on to my Pure Debian Base).

Don't know a good answer to most of your questions, but last time I looked at ROX it worked well for me to compile it from source, if I remember it right. I think you don't need to use ZeroInstall for this.
And about the WM: From five different postings you will get five different answers. First answer: Fluxbox. It's fast, easy to customize and did never crash for me.
thankyou, yes I understand that the answers to things like which [blank] should I use are totally dependant on knowing what it is going to be used for. However, ATM I am not sure what I want or need from a WM, so I am trying things out.
As for install from source, I kept going round in circles on their site and I came to the conclusion that the install from source was to get Zero Install working rther than ROX-Session. But I may well be wrong, my eyes were eating matchsticks at the time.
