Debian Jabber how to

Hey guys,

I'm trying to set up an internal chatserver with jabber.

I've been googling but could not find any good howto's and the readme's weren't all too helpfull.

I basically want to manually create users, that are stored in a mysql db.
Radius authentication would be nice too.

I'm running debian lenny.
My client is going to be PSI
Any hints or nice URL's to good howto's ?

BTW
I have it working now with jabber-jud.
I have to add users with user@mydomain, can't select the service mydomain.

So, question remains, how to get the users in a mysql db and use freeradius for authentication ?

Basic setup is easy on Debian..
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/42
although I don't see decent docs on the jabber.org website for the version in Debian.. Kinda hard to use features with no docs..

You may need to go to the jabber2 project. their documentation looks pretty complete.

Please note: jabberd 2.x is not a newer version of jabberd 1.x but a completely different project.

MySQL authentication

I see nothing on Radius for auth though..

Hi Farslayer,

Thans for the update. I got the basic thing running. But it's all so default.

I'm gonna have a look at jabberd 2
