ddrescue log file location when booting from usb?

Hello i am following this guide to recover data from my failed hard drive i used the command :-

ddrescue -f -n -a 5120000 /dev/sdc /dev/sdd logfile.log

to start the process and i am wondering where the logfile will be saved. I am booting from usb drive. I heard that it might get deleted on restart, is that true and if it so then what command can i use to make a copy of the logfile to the usb drive(sdb) before restarting?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, the log file should be on /dev/sdd.

try ...
Code:
updatedb && locate logfile.log
you can use "cp" to copy the file, if you have the correct permissions to write to the directory/drive/folder.

the "updatedb" command relys on a program called "locate", there are a few variations of that program... mlocate... etc.

see how you go.

Didn't we cover this in your prior (duplicate) thread ?. Including the cp command you'd need.
What specifically are you having trouble understanding ?.
