Unhappy Dcgui-qt - couldn't down and upload

Sorry search won't find my problem:

I'm having problems with Dcgui-qt.While I'm connected at any hub, can't down or upload.

Running MDK 9.1,firewall Guarddog set to alow Direct connect.

So I'm in Passive mode and can't get even filelist from Active users and they can't get my filelist either.
I tried Active mode, didn't work either. ( becauase I'm behind hardware firewall too )

Does anyone here please have experienced same problem?

yes i have that problem whatever direct connect client i use on whatever port even with no firewall.
direct connect is crap.

but let us try and get it working for you anyway
can you can connect with any other client on linux or windoze?
if you can copy the setting over _exactly_ from the successful client

if not it says in your sig that you're sharing a cable connection so is the port you are using being forwaded to your machine?
you need to do this for the hub to connect to your client.
to test if this is the problem start the linux firewall allowing your DC port to go through and set up your machine as a DMZ with your router.

thanx for reply,but

I don't know what you mean.

I used DC and DC++ at Windows 98,XP without any problems.
Few months ago I switched to MDK 9.1 and learning everything . I missed DC++ so I tried dcgui-qt,as recommended before.I'm sure when I reboot to XP (another boot) then DC++ will works just fine.

And what is wierd that how can I be able connect to any hub but not DC people?

Sorry I'm newbie, but 100% sure that firewall and DC is set up correctly. And about the router,I can't change anything because it is someone elses ( and I'm not good about that either).I'm just sharing cabel with her.

I guess I'll have to start learn Wine.Too many problems with all kinda software at Linux.

Anyway thanx for replying,

what hub are you using?
maybe they are blocking DCgui, some hubs only allow DC++ or NMDC
Try using a different hub or the dcgui hub

thanx for reply.

But I found some other ppl that were using dcgui-qt at the hubs I was connected.(they had it in their description)

And you said something about using DC hub instead of DC client? I've never done that before.

It should be software firewall that won't let me connect to another user who is in Active mode .But I'm not gonna use DC without firewall,I'm not that stupid.Had too many probs at Windows while downloading from DC++.(This is another reason why I switched to Linux)

I was looking here around bit about the Wine. We'll see.

Getting tired from Linux software.

Thanx for helping,I appreciate that.
