dazed and confused
 

Trying to convert from windows to linux. Wanting to install redhat 9.0 shrike. Noticed there are 6 cd`s in all and don`t know which ones too use(yeah, a real n00b here). There are 3 marked srpms and 3 marked i386. Which ones do I need or do I need them all? Thanks

For the install, the first 3 are all you are going to need. The last 3 are source cd's.

You need the 3 marked i686 - the other 3 are source RPMs which are useful but necessary. The i686s are the install disks.

It may be helpful to use more informative titles in future, as has been pointed out in other posts often titles like yours are ignored. It also doesn't help if another user wants to search for a thread.

Good luck with the d/l and install. I've been using RH9 for some months now and am very happy with it.

yea and i think i got by with a basic install on the 1st and 2nd CD's. I may not have needed the 2nd for the "workstation" install.
