day trading

hey i have been getting into stock market trading lately (i'm in america trading on american exchanges)

i found qtstalker and really liked it as a technical analysis tool. it is essencially perfect (and is for linux) the only issue is that it doesnt handle realtime quotes.

yahoo's finance site and google fiannce both have real time quotes now so i would love for qtstaker to support realtime data but unfortunitely it doesnt right now.

are there any similar programs that will provide intraday technical charts for stocks? i would prefer them to be for linux but i could emulate an app with wine or run in vmware if need be.

thanks for the help.

I do not believe that there are any free applications that provide real-time financial data because of the inherent value of this information. I would suspect that Google or Yahoo's financial data will be delayed by some period of at least 10 to 15 minutes.

nope

nope the data is real time now.

here is a post on the official google blog about it back in june. realtime quotes on nasdaq and nyse.

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/...e-finance.html

yahoo finance has realtime quotes as well. for example here is the page for the realtime quote for google.

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ecn?s=goog

free realtime quotes are available, but for some reason no one wants to use them.
