database ?

I'd like to develop a relational database similar to ms access or lotus approach. I've used starbase in the past, but I don't know if there is a plug in for Open Office. I'd appreciate some guidance as to what program, and a pointer to a relevant tutorial.

Many thanks

Thanks Markus. I was wondering about MySQL. After loading it, I realised that I would either need an extensive tutorial, or find a "front end" if that's the right term, or if such a thing's even necessary.

There are plenty of front-ends to MySQL. Just take a quick look at both freshmeat and sourceforge.
