Dansguardian, Whitelist and XLS downloads

Hi Guys,

I have dansguardian/squid running on debian, in whitelist mode, that is to say, I am only allowing access to a small and specific block of URLs. One of the URLs is attempting to download a .xls file. It works if DG is byepassed, but times-out otherwise and the file does not arrive. I have allowed .xls files (well, its commented out in the bannedextensionlist file, I assume that's therefore allowed).

I have a concern that this may be normal whitelist behaviour, but I cannot find it documented anywhere....any suggestions?

Cheers
