DANSGUARDIAN: How will you set this rules?

This is what I want to do "PC1 will be able to browse the internet but still be filtered by dansguardian. PC2 will be block from all the sites except from those sites listed in exceptionsitelist. The PCs will be connected in one linux gateway."

Two seperate rules right?. one is block all browsing using blanket block, and use exceptioniplist for the ip address that needs to be in the internet. The drawback of this is dansguardian will not be able to filter the IPs in the exceptioniplist..

The second one is allow all browsing then the IPs that needs to be restricted in browsing will be placed in "bannediplist" but the drawback is for example PC2 needs to be on bannediplist but also needs a particular website to access.

Is that possible? Help pls...

first FAQ entry of dansguardian:

1. I want ACL-like features where different users and groups and subnets and times have different settings. Can DansGuardian do this?

No*. It can switch off filtering for certain users, sites and IPs, but not varying degrees. This ability you desire is called ACLs. Nor can it block for ranges of IPs or subnets. Nor can it block by time of day. If you need this install squidGuard also.

*Actually as of version 2.7.5 it can have different filtering for groups of users but it still can't do time of day functionality nor subnets nor range of IPs.

I was wondering if you could tell me how to filter by users. I have 2 users that need access to a couple sites that I don't want to give anyone else. Is this possible? If so how? We are using DHCP so I don't think adding them to the exceptioniplist will work.
