Angry damn device=:0 not working


hi all,
i have a puzzling problem that kept bothering me all the afternoon...
so now i look for some help (actually ANY help)

that is the problem:

i have 2 pc, one server and one client. On the server i have i kind of interface that should pilot camera playback on the client side... Bright plan, remote issue the play commands and chck the client screen for the output.
In order to make this i have on top of my scripts the

export DISPLAY =:0

command, but all i gei in output is something like:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: no protocol specified

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: no protocol specified

Couldn't initialize SDL: no available video device
Screen initialization failed


can anyone help me????
