Hi ya,
I do have exactly the same problem - any subtitles with a DivX movies, which have non-standard characters there (as for example, cyrillic, slavic and so on) does not display properly - the player is able to represent them as monkey-chars only. Event german special chars does not allways display properly, some of them (for example the 'ß' and the EURO-symbol '€') does not display properly at all. Furthermore, if in the preferences dialog, a corresponding font encoding is choosen, then the mplayer refuses to load the subtitles at all. It works with the "None" setting only, for the Font encoding. Any help will be greatly appreaciate! Many thanks in advance! Kind regards, sbogus |

That's okay. I haven't been able to play much of anything using mplayer. I suggest you try vlc. avidemux2 may also proves useful. Both in repositories. Poka. |
