Customizable MetroUI-like easy to use launcher for GNU/Linux.

Yes, it sounds like that. I'm looking for a launcher for X that uses a MetroUI-like tiling system that can be customized as needed. Doesn't have to be exact, but just easy enough for someone to use who may not have a lot of PC skills.

Do any of these exist for GNU/Linux that can work with about any DE/WM?

And yes, I do know the Metro look isn't favorable, but for the purpose I need it for it fits perfectly.

I assume you mean Metro as in Windows and not Metro-X one of the original x window managers.

I know of no current window manager that acts like metro.

A number of window managers toss the idea around on ways to make tablet and phone interfaces.

It may not be too hard to create a clone of metro. So many tools have matured and graphic display technique is well documented that you may be able to create one.

My best guess would be a mod of gnome3 in the menu.
