curiosity virtualbox partitions in linux

Hi-

I read a blip on an article where a person did an installation of fedora using the manual method. Once he had ran anaconda (that distros installer), it picked up all the partitions on his windows box.

Does it make more sense to partition outside of virtualbox, and then, afterwards, go run the installer (anaconda) in virtualbox and select partitions?

Can you create partitions within virtualbox before installing using anaconda?

It would be nice if fedora let you automatically install mbr partition scheme instead of lvm automatically.

thx.-

Hi-

I checked out gparted and for both partitions:
/dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2 listed in gparted in linux inside Vb they are listed as msdos.

To me that means virtualbox can have mbr partitions inside a virtual machine even though the host uses gpt/efi probably.

Is it okay to use gparted live as optical disk under storage in VB and click live?

thx. -

Hi habitual-

I tried out a live fedora-xfce img and used gparted within vb. It will let me create a partition table and add partitions. I guess it is okay to do that, so if I choose not to use lvm2, I don't have to!

thx.-

You are very welcome.
and a lot of things are "okay to do" in Virtualbox. :)

Have fun.
