Cups: Printing multiple copies doesn't work.
I have a fine, beautiful, clean and nice install of Slack 12.0 on my server. It's file and print sharing in a small soho. I'm running Cups and Samba to serve Windows and Linux machine.

Cups doesn't accept multiple copies of a print job.

I have a bulletin I need to print 80 copies of. It should be as easy as selecting "80" in the "Number of copies" box in the print window of the program. When I do, I get one (1) copy, not 80.

I've Googled and searched, but found nothing but the same question from a number of other folks. No solutions. Is this a bug in Cups? Or is there a line I can add to cupsd.conf to make multiple copies work. (BTW I tried adding "MaxCopies 100" but it didn't make any difference).

Okay, now I'm really confused.

I decided to try different print drivers (the drivers that came with my HP LaserJet 1300).

1. The PS driver prints multiple copies, but the print quality is just a little lighter than the PCL6.

2. The PCL5 driver does the same as the PS.

3. The PCL6 driver has the best print quality, but doesn't print multiple copies.

Does anyone know what the difference here is?

Found a bit of helpful banter here:;f=7;t=5761

And then these:

I'll probably just load the PCL5e driver since it's "native to HP."
