cups

I have great problems with cups and my usb printer.

I have installed cups from both the debian packages, then i purged it and i
reinstalled everything from source ( with esp ghostscript too ).

To use the printer, i wrote as root from the CLI:

lpadmin -p prova -E -v usb:/dev/usb/lp0 -P /usr/share/cups/model/Epson/Epson-Stylus_C42UX-gimp-print.ppd

And tried also with the web interface ( http://localhost:631 ).

But when i try to print something, i obtain the following message ( from the
jobs section of the web interface AFAIR ):

Admin

Error:

client-error-not-possible

And in fact the printer doesn't work @ all .

It's an epson c42ux, and according to linux printing it should work perfectly (
and a friend of mine use it with mandrake without troubles )

The usb manager is on and i can see the printer with usbview.
