hi... i have a locally conected hp printer....that prints ok from de linux box...
i've share the printer.... and i have the problem that when i'm triying to print... from a windows pc... the only way i can see the print dialog is by browsing the network.... if i don't do a [/192.168.1.1] command in run i cannot se the dialog... doesn't matter if i have rc.firewall on or of... thanx...
You could try creating a "local printer" that
uses TCP/IP in the port settings in windows,
or if it's a samba-related issue make the printer
a browsable item.
the windows 9x can see the printer and print to it but only when i do the browsing command no teh linux box... otherwise i'll never see the print dialog...
also i recall dosn't matter if i've enabled or disabled iptables by doing iptables -F
