CUPS - 127 character error message


I am running Mandrake 9.2 with the default install of CUPS, and I am getting this error message whenever I try to add a printer:


The printer name may only contain up to 127 printable characters.

I get this error regardless of how many characters I use for the printer name. I have tried this using Konqueror and Opera - both give the same error message.

Has anyone had to deal with this before? I tried a search and came up empty handed...

No one has seen this before? My setup is pretty normal - straight up Mandrake 9.2 install with the lower security setting - No weird hardware, just a stock dell system..

I feel like such a ....
