cryptkeeper import error after re-install of os

had to reinstall the os and now trying to recover an encrypted folder. it says "the selected folder is not an EncFS folder." the folder is on an external drive so it wasn't touched. 3.13.10-200.fc20.x86_64 cryptkeeper-0.9.5-8.fc20.x86_64. tia

Maybe try your actual mount command with 'encfs -v' first? Verbose mode should tell you in detail what's wrong.
