Crontab Problem

Hey all

I'm having a bit of a problem with my crontab on a CORE5 server. I'm running a custom script that I wrote to execute a nessus commandline scan every day.

==================================================================
*/3 * * * * /nessus_auto
==================================================================

The "*/3" is just to test.. I set it to run every 3 minutes. The scan takes about 90sec... So the cron isn't overlapping..

In the script it looks like this:
==================================================================
export DISPLAY=":0.0"
/sbin/NessusClient -q -V -T nbe -x 127.0.0.1 1241 admin password /LIST /server.nbe

==================================================================

I tried the cron like this:
==================================================================
*/3 * * * * root /nessus_auto
==================================================================
It will not run via Cron, but when I run the script in a normal SSH session (the only way I can connect to the server) it works just fine.

Any help please..

It's probably an X authentication problem. Change the command to this:
Code:
*/3 * * * * root /nessus_auto > /tmp/my.log 2>&1
...wait for it to run, and then see if there are error messages in this /tmp/my.log file. Post the contents here...
