cron not working

Hi,

My cron suddenly stopped to work, I am running centos 4.5 with latest cPanel build.

I have the following for testing:
Code:
*/1 * * * * /bin/date >>/date.log
But it is not working, when I check in /date.log and /var/log/cron it is empty,

I have tried to restart crond, and to update cPanel but nothing seems to work.

any ideas?

Well, if cron has a problem it usually emails root (or the crontab's owner).
Try mail or mailx from the cmd line as root/other user.
