cron job questions....

hi there:

just learned about cron stuff and am trying to set up cronjob that retrives my emails every 10mins by adding the following fo my crontab:

*/10 * * * * fetchmail -a -m "/usr/bin/procmail -d %T"

as far as i can tell, the fetchmail command was executed ok, but i am not gettig any emails. and when i looked into "/var/log/everything/current", i saw"

Feb 18 11:50:01 [/usr/sbin/cron] (sonicvariable2) CMD (fetchmail -a -m "/usr/bin/procmail-d )
Feb 18 11:50:01 [sSMTP] Sent mail for root@smtp.blueyonder.co.uk (221 2.0.0 smtp-out2.blueyonder.co.uk Serv
ice closing transmission channel)

where the fetchmail command was cut off after the -d part, could this be why? and if yes, how could i resolve this? and also is it correct the the sSMTP says sent mail for root?

many thanks

CHUN

ummm, i think i have found te problem:

from the man page:

Percent-signs (%) in the command, unless escaped with backslash (\), will be changed into newline characters, and all data after the first % will be sent to the command as standard inpt.

cheers
