Cron job in Linux

I have a shell scripts that need to be run daily at a specific time to clean up a directory. I use CentOS (RedHat).
I am able to run the script manually and it works well - does what it should do.
I want to know the steps to schedule in cron. My visit to various forums confuses me. Can any one give me clear sequence of steps. Thanks a lot.

See if this helps

Easiest way to edit is to use the command crontab -e

Note that this requires the use of vim commands
