creative zen vision w - mtp
hi, i am running fc-9-live-cd. when i plug in my media player it shows an icon on my desktop (Creative Technology, Ltd Creative ZEN Vision W) and when i browse it i see all the video and music files.
the problem is when i drag a video file to my desktop, it creates the file but with 0 bytes (empty file). is there any way to have nautilus (or any software) copy the contents of music or videos to my hard drive ?
here is some info
Code:

How does this device vary from the Vision-M? For the Vision-M, a part of the drive can be reserved as a USB drive. However the files in this area aren't what the player sees. It's just a storage drive.
You can run "mtp-getfile <source>, <destination>" to retrieve files that are in the player part of the drive.
You could try mounting it using mtpfs. I've found that it is a bit flacky because the connection is broken after any file is deleted or moved.

For the Zen vision m i use Gnomad2 for transfering music files to the player.
Also i needed to install the MTP-tools package.
Might be worth trying Gnomad2,i seem to remember it is in the Livna repository....
Although i can't say if this possible while booting from a live cd.
Regards.
The trooper.

They are separate and the live-usb portion is at the end. The first part should still be able to be accessed via mtp. Try "mtp-detect".
(note: I'm basing this on my experience with my Vision-M.) You didn't resize the usb drive portion to the full size of the drive?

i'll try it, but my zen vision-w is 32 - gig; the most you could dedicate to usb mass data storage is 16 gig.
i dont think it can see the media files side when in usb hard-drive mode. on the zen-vision-w, i must select 'removable disk' from the menu.
