Creating my own gnome icon theme!! PLS HELP

i'm using gnome 2.8 , i would like to creat my own icon theme, are the any sofwares available to do this in linux?

i dont want to creat icons, i want use exsisting icons to make themes, like for example i want to tell like this icon should assinged to hdd, this icon should assinged to my home foler, some thing like that.. for another example like you can go to www.gnome-look.org and download a icon theme, extract it to ~/.icons folder and go to theme manager, select the theme and the correct icons will be applied on the system, like that i want to create a icon theme

Just creat the images and package them the way Gnome want.
