Creating a web proxy/gateway/intermediary

Hey!

I would like to publish web content from a central [Ubuntu] server which performs critical tasks (besides having an apache 2.2.16 with some sites),

But I do not want the web clients to interact directly with my apache server, I would like the requests to be made from another server inside my DMZ.

My self stipulated philosophy states that even for the same site, only some requests/URLs could be «GETted».

Maybe Im not explaining myself very well, so I made up a visio diagram.

You can setup squid or use apache's mod_proxy to proxy requests to another server. However, I have not attempted or heard of setting up proxying for only specific requests. I know it can be separated by site but not sure about the individual requests for the same vhost.

tunnels

thats what vlans are for. just put the server on a different vlan, only the computers on that same vlan will see the server.
