Okay, I guess my confusion is: to create an email account do you just have to add a user and the user automatically gets an email account? Or do you have to do something with the MAIL_DIR? And how do you check your email? I'm really new to Linux.
as root use
useradd foo
this will create user foo with a home directory
Also the user will be able to sent and recieve mail.
User foo can check his mail in /var/spool/mail/foo
using any mailprogramm, just point it to /var/spool/mail/foo
or use mutt
Thanks for the thorough answer that was really helpful. I really appreciate you're spelling it out for me. I so often get little blurb answers that don't do me any good. You were great!
