I am really interested in how to make a bootable linux live cd. Not one of these sites that allow you to create one, but rather, how to do it from scratch. Would that be assembly language, or does it involve loading a kernel somehow? If anyone can point me in the right direction as to what to look up, that would be great. Thanks Ron.
You can use a few different programs to make a Live Linux CD or DVD.
There is Brasero, Xfburn or K3b that will burn the image of the .iso onto the CD/DVD.
-::-Now if you only want to burn a disc by commandline only there is a tool called 'wodim'that will assist you with the burn. I've never used it so I can't tell you much about it.-::-
Maybe that will do. I'm not sure how to make it more descriptive other than I would like to create and boot my own version of linux. I will check out the link thank you
