CRC error after powerfailure

I installed Slackware Linux 10.1 on a dual system (Windows @ linux) and it was running fine. While in windows I had a power failure. After restarting the PC windows was stil running fine but Linux gave a CRC error. Repartitioning, reformatting and reinstaling Linux didn't make a differance. I ran a memory test and the memory also seem to be fine.

Any suggestions?

When you format, you need to perform read/write testing to map out bad blocks. For example:

mke2fs -c -c -j -m 0 /dev/hda2

The repeated '-c' option forces the read/write test. See 'man mke2fs' for more details.

Note that this will take a long time, depending on the size of the partition and the number of bad blocks.
