crating an account - doubt
 

I want to create an account in linux RH 8.0 which is a NFS server for 4 other IRIX machines. well, example,

lpotti - username
user - groupname
/bin/tcsh - shell
/usr/people - home directory.

the /home/people in linux machine is used or rather shared as /usr/people in IRIX machines.
where should i create this account? i tried creating in linux machine as /usr/people but it shows that the directoy doesn't exist. Then, i tried in IRIX machine, it shows careating in /usr/people is permission denied!! what's the solution?

p.s: Actually i am bit confused.. :rolleyes: hope my explanation is correct. Any suggestions?

IRIX uses /usr/people, Linux uses /home, so create it in /home.
