Coverting source to an RPM

A friend of mine said he was compiling a source code into an RPM, is there any commands or third-party programs that can easily do this?

I think that would be build, and it's probably a part of your distro.

i think you can do it typing 'rpmbuild' or something similar but here can find a program that is very usefull for this: http://asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/
