Covert Bitrate of MP3's


Is there a progam avaliable for linxu to convert the bitrate of mp3s , like a 192 to 128 song? Thanks.

grip - but you have to burn it to a cd first in wave format and then encode it with grip as an mp3 in whatever bitrate you want.
There should be another tool that is easier but this is how I did it.

Ack. Buring to CD is a bit too complicated. Lame is probably a better alternative.

well grip uses lame to encode the ripped track anyway...

thanks for your help guys, i would have tried grip but i am currently without a cd burner but i got it to work great with lame. Thanks
