Couple questions, service command and pureftpd
First off, I use 'service' to control apache and other things but when I even try service apache stop or start I get unknown command service doesnt matter what process or service i try the same message
Second, Pure-FTPd is my ftp software, but auto resume is not supported, is there no way to support it? |
Not sure about the FTP issue but I know the Apache daemon is called httpd not apache. You can check out what services you have available by by looking in your /etc/init.d directory.

httpd is what i meant lol heres what I mean
root@midwest [/etc/init.d]# which service root@midwest [/etc/init.d]# It should return something? |
Oh I see...not sure about that. I guess you don't have the service command installed. The service command just stops, starts, or restarts the scripts in /etc/init.d . I just do it that way:
/etc/init.d/httpd restart You could always create an alias as well. |
