Couldn't open console
 

I have tried different ways from different website's troubleshooting... FYI, I am pretty still newbie even though I have been using a year (was stopped using due to moving out of state)...

Can you guys help me with step by step to edit with /dev/console??

I see that I have xterm and knosole none of them are exacuteable.... I tried xconsole -file /dev/console, but it still couldn't open console.

I have tried chown /dev/ttyvO /dev/console, just nothing happened...

Hope somebody can help me to solve this?? Since it is a week struggled!!

I'm confused by what you are trying to do. Are you just trying to get to a command line? If so, you can do CTRL+ALT+F2 and you'll get a text login prompt. Or start konsole (/usr/bin/konsole). If it is not executable, you can do as root chmod +x /usr/bin/konsole.
