corruption error while ripping ogg files in Konqueror - do they ever stop?

I'm running KDE 3 on the debian sarge release, and last night I tried the cd ripper in Konqueror. Periodically an error would pop up and remind me that my cds are not in their best conditions, printing something like : "alert - ogg file may be corrupt". I feel confident that it's due to the scratches on the disks.

Does anyone know how to remove this message from popping up? One of the functions of cd ripping I enjoy the most is being able to make scatchless cds by ripping my scratched ones and making fresh copies. I would be awefully nice not to have that message pop up every minute when doing so. I'm a newbie, but I'm dedicated to this software and I want to learn!

-Thanks, TS

How about using a dedicated ripping front-end instead of Konqueror? There are many to choose from; kaudiocreator, grip, ripperx, and a multitude of cli programs. Nearly all of them use cdparanoia to rip and oggenc to encode, so you'll get pretty much the same results no matter what you use.

I personally use kaudiocreator, because it's a kde app, but mostly because it has the best tag-editing features of all the ones I've tried. You do have to know how to tweak the oggenc command-line config first though to get everything set up right, however.
