Corrupt kernel problems with installing
Good day, I have tried installing Dreamstudio 64 bit and Ultimate Edition 64 bit on my Dell Inspiron Zino, but neither will start, instead I read of a corrupt or invalid kernel.
From lscpu I find:
Architecture: i686
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit
Byte Order: Little Endian
CPU(s): 2
So 64 bit distros should work on my Dell right?
Might I simply have to look for other distros?

Corrupt or invalid kernels might point to a hardware problem. I recommend to run Memtest86+ and a harddisk diagnosis toll first, to rule that possibility out.

Assuming that lscpu is giving you information about the hardware, then this indicates that you cannot run a 64bit. The line
Quote:
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit

tells you the following.
Quote:
lscpu is telling you that your architecture is i686 (an Intel 32-bit CPU), and that your CPU supports both 32-bit and 64-bit operating modes. You won't be able to install x64 built applications since they're built specifically for x64 architectures.

A 64 bit OS, Ubuntu Studio worked live in this Dell, but not when installed. As the wireless internet could not connect in the latter case.
