copying video files onto disk

Hello,
whenever I try copyin video files larger than 500MB onto my harddisk, I hear to the error saying, cannot copy.
There is no problem in copying smaller files.

What is the solution.

Please help me.

How big is the target partition, how
much free space is there left, is user
quota enabled?

Cheers,
Tink

Sir,
I have enabled the quotas for the normal users. But even if I try copying the file with the root user, it will still give the error. The target partition is a lot of 22 GB
What else may be the cause sir?

Thank you

Try typing in df -h, and see if you have enough free space.
Try temporarely disabling quotas, or specifically incerasing the quota of the user you are trying to accomplish this with.

Sir,
I have disabled the qutoas and even checked the diskspace. but it will give the error as input/output error. cannot copy the file. Its the same error whenever I try copying the movie files. But not with any other files.

Please help me
thanks
