copying ipod files

hey, i want to copy my files from my ipod to my computer, im running slackware 10.1 on kernel 2.6.11.8 and im using gtk pod, when i try to copy the files it gives me warnings either about the file not matching, or it not being the right format, i think it has something to do with the charset i am using. i once copied my pink floyd songs over without a problem... idk why it wont do it now... any suggestions?

GTK should be able to handle the songs normally. I noticed that Gtkpod complains if you upload music using another program (iTunes for example), but it just says the playlist is not in gtkpod format.
Keep in mind that gtkpod only is for uploading music, if you want to upload another type of file, you should mount the iPod and copy the file manually.

well no, gtkpod isnt just for uploading, it does have a copy files from ipod feature, which i now can get to work under root, i just had to play with the charset used for naming the files.
