What terminal are you running?
What are you keying/doing to copy or paste?

In a terminal:
copy is typically done by highlighting the text to be copied...that automagically puts it on the clipboard.
paste is typically done by clicking the middle mouse button.

In other programs on a desktop, like word processor or text editor, ctrl+c and ctrl+v should work.

Please expand on "don't work"

What specifically doesn't work?

which terminal are you using - e.g. Gnome Terminal, Konsole, XTerm, etc.
Are you trying to use keyboard shortcuts? (which ones - Ctrl-C/V, Ctrl-Ins/Shift-Ins, Ctrl-Shift-C/V)
Have you tried using the Copy/Paste options in Edit menu and/or right click menu?

Where are you copying and pasting between?
You may find there are two different clipboards in play.

Are you running a Clipboard Manager?

That`s what i did the traditional way with just a note copied to and pasted from into default terminal. / Everything used is debian by default - nothing added - but it wont past into the multi-lingual terminal.

See below answer - everything is default debian - highlight - right click = paste.
Will copy to note but wont paste in multi lingual terminal - All default in debian linux.

I do not know what you do, nobody does.
So some wild guesses. Not to maybe hit the point by accident, but to show you that you have to be more specific.

1.) To copy from one pseudo-terminal to another, mark the original text (from a command-line, there is nothing else on a terminal) with the mouse. Go to the second terminal, push middle button -> pasted on the command-line of the terminal (as there is nothing else in a terminal)

2.) To copy and paste from Vim 8.2: Use the 'v' and the 'cursor keys' to mark original text, hit "+y (three keys in that order). Go wherever you want to and use the function that is provided by the target-application to paste (search the docs).
What is a “note”?

Debian 10.3.0.
In multi-lingual terminal.
Double click over text.
INSERT button on keyboard.
SHIFT-INSERT buttons on keyboard.

Noting that the normal Debian terminal program works exactly as every other terminal program in the world and supports right mouse and menu commands.

Noting also that CTRL-INSERT, SHIFT-INSERT and other similar keystrokes are typical for terminals.

If you are using xterm, then SHIFT+INS, although I find xterm pretty nasty and prefer to use the XFCE terminal, which uses CTRL+SHIFT+V to paste into (or use the mouse).

Select text. middle mouse click in the where ever you want it area.
xterm you can add copy/paste via .Xresources.
it is basically terminal dependent.
just pop open a different term and use that one. xfce4's works okey dokey.
