copy HTML and paste links

I am using Mandrake 9.2, KDE, Mozilla Mail, and Konqueror.
When I try to copy and paste from an HTML email or from a web page, the embedded links are never copied, only the text. This is when I copy with Klipper or with the "middle mouse button".
It doesn't matter if I am copying into an HTML email message, or into OpenOffice, or into Abiword, or Kword, or Bluefish.
Is there a way to copy, and end up with live links?

This is because all you are highlighting is text. The automatic linking is done via the program, it's not part of the markup, so if the program you paste to doesn't do that, you're out of luck.

Well, it seems that no Linux program that I have does it. So I'm out of luck?
I know that if I copy links and paste into Outlook Express or Word or Wordpad, the links are active. So if all Linux programs lack that capability, that is a serious defect.
