Copy file using Oracle as user

Dear All,

I am using RHL machine on amazon ec2 and oracle installed in it. While installing the oracle in linux machine it got installed in u01 folder in root volume so my root volume so less space volume so i created one more volume and i moved data from u01 to new created volume and renamed that volume as u01 but all files which i moved are root users. when i tried to move the file using oracle users it say permission declined .

because of this i am not able to start my database . can anyone please tell me how to move files using oracle user.

Thanks

Gajanan

Sounds like you should have change the access rights to the new location. Presuming the files are all fine, just change their ownership, and the ownership of the directories you've created, with chown. Compare and contrast to the original location until they are the same.
