Question Copy.com app installation in Ubuntu 14.01

Hi Guys

Sorry, but I don't think I will ever get the hang of this.

I have downloaded the app from Copy.com (cloud storage) and unpacked it into my Home folder. I have loaded the terminal and tried as sudo to install the app - but just cannot get it right.

Can anyone please give me the correct syntax for doing this? The program I need is called CopyAgent

Many thanks in advance. (Ubuntu 14.04 not 01 DOH!)

So you got .deb package from their website? What exactly is error message in terminal. I usually use gdebi to install deb packages.

If you got source files than you need to compile.

If it is available in software center it is the easiest install.

My attempt

Thanks Yooy for the reply

Please see attached screenshot - hope this helps.

The software centre does not keep this prog.

I am unaware of what kind of download it was - just a tar file. Sorry to be so vague. I have just installed gdebi if this helps?

This software run from your home directory, no installation needed, all you have to do is to open the folder for your architecture, armv6h, x86 or x86_64 and double click on CopyAgent, which will start the program, first time you will be ask your account info for copy.com or if you don't have one, to create it.

If you want it to start on login, you will need to tell the system to do so, sorry I don't know how to do this in gnome.

Hope this is helping, have a nice day.

Unhappy Tried that

Hi albinodrew

I have already tried this and nothing at all happens. I assumed that an "install" was required as a result.

Mmmm - very puzzled. Many thanks for the reply hewever.
