Copy and paste issues

I am using FC4 with GNOME
I have noticed that I can't copy and paste things from my email client (evolution) and my oracle client (Tora) into other programs. Is this a gnome issue or is it a problem with the mentioned applications... Any ideas how to fix this?

GNOME's clipboard, last time I used it was in need of some work. The way I copy-paste stuff is using the X method, as it doesn't rely on any particular DE and will work however you try it. Highlighting text will copy it to the primary buffer, then middle-click in a different spot and it'll paste. Any text that is highlighted is in the primary buffer and is paste-able with a middle-click. X also has a secondary buffer making it possible to have two selections going at once but I forget how to do it. Just different mouse combinations but since I never use it I can't remember how its done.

Thanks ... I'll do that if I can't get ctrl-c/ctrl-v to work. But how do you set it up to use the X method?

No setup required. Just highlight some text from my post and then middle-click in the quick reply box for an example.
