Converting LATEX-Word

My name is Daniel Ciuiu and I am assistant-professor at Mathematics and Computer Science Department, Technical University of Civil Engineering, Bucharest, Romania.

There are some revues and conferences which ask papers only in Word format. How can I convert (export) a .tex file to WORD under LINUX? In Windows there exists Scientific Workplace 5.0 or later version which has a option in "File" "Export to rtf". After opening the file we can save it in .doc format.

I am not sure about converting .tex files but .txt files can be converted to .doc using open office. The only problem I experienced was with built in macros associated with the text file.

Thank you all for assistance. Unfortunately the formulae do not appear so well. For instance it can appear something like

H=-\overset[infty sign]\undersetn=0
[sum sign]
pn·lnpn.

In the above formula pn is p_n (indices end exponents are good). References are also good.

It is because of LINUX version?

The instructions are for Debian/Ubuntu, and my version is CENTOS, from the basic version RED HAT.

When I use the command 12h or ltx2doc if I have only cat09.tex it appears first the message
"Latex Error: File tex4ht.sty not found",
and finally nsome zip warnings about name no math, and produce no file.

If I type first tth cat09 it produces a html, and by 12h it produces a oth file, from which I can save as Win 2000 doc, and I have obtained the above results.

Thank you all,
Daniel Ciuiu
