Convert multiple VOB files to one AVI
 

I am looking for some kind of software native to linux that can take a DVD stream ripped as multiple VOBs broken into 1GB segments and convert it into a single AVI. Under windows AutoGK is very good at doing this, it reads the IFO file and converts the VOBs and stitches them together wonderfully. Every piece of software for linux that I have tried so far does not support reading multiple VOBs of IFOs. All I have been able to do is convert single VOBs into single AVIs. Does anyone know of a piece of software that is capable of doing this? I am about to attempt to get AutoGK running using wine, but I would rather use something native. By the way, I am running Ubunutu Feisty Fawn (7.04)

I don't think I understand your question here are you somehow ripping the .vob to a custom size not the normal VOB you get about that size when taking them off the DVD?? If you have standard vob files I would suggest using dvdrip it will take a directory as input to output to .avi, if custom and all you have are the .avi then look at avidemux you would need to load first .avi then use the append option for the others to produce one complete avi.

Instead of ripping the DVD stream as a single VOB, which would be over 4GB and I am using a FAT32 partition for storage, I rip the stream with the file size being 1GB, so I end up with 4 or more VOBs which need to be encoded together, like a single long VOB. I tried dvdrip and I could only get it to encode one VOB at a time and output an AVI for each VOB. Not exactly what I am looking for. I will give it another try though, thanks.
