Question convert mp3 to wav

Ok, so I downloaded lame, and it looks like it will make a wav into an mp3 but not the other way around, not to mention that I can't figure out how to use it. I'm a newbie, and a bit dense. I wanna use mp3s to make a play in the car cd. I have kb3; I heard it does it all for me, like that cd burning software, what was it...N something? But it doesn't convert my files automatically; maybe I am doing something wrong there too.
Can someone please tell me how to use lame, and also what useful program I can get to convert files from mp3 to wav, and also if I can do something to kb3 to make it convert the files like magic?
Thanky Thanky!

From time to time, I need to do this also. I use xmms as my answer. Click on the face of xmms, go to options, preferences, there you can select output plugins. One of these is "diskwriter". "play" an mp3, and there's the .wav in your home dir. Don't forget to put it back to what it was before.

Now, K3b certainly CAN do this automatically, IF you have certain plugins available for it. I do have them, but, I had best leave this to others, as I am not sure what the required plugins are. I might also note, that, no matter what I do, rewritable CD's will NOT play in my G.M. truck, only the one-shots work.
